Happy 30th Anniversary TIS Kuala Lumpur

On Friday 25th February, TISKL celebrated its 30th Anniversary.

A short but powerful event was held with the Performing Arts team playing the Chinese drums and then the Orchestra playing a rendition of the Happy Birthday theme. It was a superb performance and another step towards normality.

In a speech, I said that I am very proud to be the principal of this school. In the last 12 years, I have seen this school adapt and change to be the dynamic place it is today.

Schools are not buildings and facilities, schools are places where people matter and it is the sum of the people in the school which make it such a great place. The combination of students and teachers bring the school alive, and provide the experiences and opportunities that give memories for a lifetime. School days are often described as the “best days of your life”, and this school is a great example of this.

TISKL is full of great learning and excellent exam results but it is all the other things that make the school special. We have just published a YouTube video which captures the essence of the school by speaking to alumni from the last 30 years. I thoroughly recommend that you watch this video.

We are still in the middle of the COVID pandemic and we have not been immune to positive cases. Parents should monitor their email to keep up to date with news from the school and how cases affect their children.

Thank you to the positive way that parents have approached self testing every Monday. Please remember that we will be asking for tests on Monday and that students who do not provide a negative test will not be able to enter school. This is to help keep all of us safe. Please respect this direction and keep any child who is ill or showing symptoms at home.
