Thank you once again for the way that everyone is tackling the current Covid2019 situation. It is great to see the positive manner in which the majority have approached this. Student attendance is back to normal and life within school is continuing almost as normal.
Having written this we all need to be vigilant. Students must stay away from school if they show any symptoms of illness. Please let the section office know, if your child is staying away from school. This and regular washing of hands can help us to reduce the spread of germs around the school.
Some external events and activities have however been cancelled or postponed as a result of this virus outbreak. Our sister school from Kyoto in Japan, Hokuryo High School, who were due to visit Malaysia last week have cancelled their trip. We have also postponed our Secondary environmental trips to the Mangrove plantations. The school will continue to monitor the situation and review the events that we have scheduled.
Next week we do have two school holidays, on Monday and Tuesday (2-3 March 2020). This extended weekend is intended as a mini mid-term break, as Chinese New Year was early. Please do take these days as a chance to rest and recharge for the remainder of the term, but please think about where you go and what you do.
Later in March, we will again be hosting Mark Reardon from Quantum Education from the United States. For most of his time, he will be working with teachers but we are organising another workshop for parents entitled “Are you raising your child ready?”
Those who have been fortunate to be in one of Mark’s previous workshops will know what a thought provoking and entertaining presenter he is. This session will be held on Saturday 14th March between 10am and 12pm in the 7th floor training room. If you would like more details and to book tickets, please follow the link below.
