Welcome back to Term 3, and I hope that you had a relaxing break from school. This term promises to be one where many school activities return to normal after the pause caused by the pandemic, with school trips, and sports fixtures all happening. This was starting in term 2 but should return to normal in term 3. I encourage you to support these activities, as the last two years have shown us that they are such an important part of a child’s development and time in school.

Calendar 2023
We have just finalised the school calendar for 2023 and you will be able to find the details on the school website, and a pdf copy was also emailed to your school email earlier this week. The 2023 calendar follows a very similar pattern to that of previous years. In essences the key dates are:-

Term 1 - Monday January 9th to Friday April 14th
Term 2 - Monday May 8th to Friday July 28th
Term 3 - Monday August 21st to Friday November 24th

As in previous years, we will be observing all the Malaysian public holidays and celebrating the various festive seasons. It is worthwhile reminding parents that we do not follow the MoE academic calendar, and that announcements in the press about changes to the government school holidays do not apply to TISKL. However, if any new public holidays are announced in 2023, we will observe these as well.

A reminder here that at the end of last term I announced that there will be some price changes for some meals and for mainly uniform items. The book list for 2023 will be published towards the end of this term, and will also be available on the parents portal.

Finally, my congratulations and thanks to the 23 students and teachers who were involved in the “Biggest Malaysia Map Jigsaw Puzzle”. This is now on display in the Grand Atrium area of the Intermark Mall in KL. Our students designed and coloured this huge map of Malaysia.
