A happy New Year to everyone, and welcome back to school. It is a new year, a new decade and the possibilities in front of everyone are countless.
It is great to be in school with the noise and energy of children and young adults. Their passion and enthusiasm is certainly contagious.
Unfortunately the first item this year is also about contagious issues but not positive ones.
Influenza - We are being vigilant (as always) and the nurses and class teachers and monitoring students for illness. I would like to remind parents and guardians to keep their children at home if they have any symptoms of illness. It is very easy for germs to spread in school, and by keeping a child at home, this spread is reduced. Our nurses will monitor and will be sending children home if they are unwell. It is good to remind parents, that we don’t have a doctor on site, and that the nurses can make recommendations for children to visit a doctor, where the appropriate diagnosis can take place.
Online Bookshop -SBL who operate the bookshop apologise for the less than satisfactory delivery service seen in December. They have been working hard to overcome the issues and everything should be back to normal by the end of this week. There are some items that are out of stock already and please be assured that these items are being restocked as quickly as possible. If you have any issues with the bookshop deliveries or orders, please use the contact number given, or come into school, where a representative of SBL will be able to assist. They will be in reception until CNY.
Quantum Learning - We are very pleased to announce that the school has been awarded the Stage 2 Quantum Learning Distinguished School status. This accreditation is wholly about the standard and quality of teaching in the classroom and recognises the great work the teachers have done to increase their impact with students.
