As part of their exploration of 'Weather Wonders', Early Years students made their very own sun catchers using paper plates and coloured contact paper. During the unit of learning, students also learned about weather, seasons and the sky, sun, moon and stars. They created igloos and cloudscapes, as well as reading and talking about different weather conditions.
Climate Control
Learning about factors which affect our climate, Year 5 students made a pledge to save our earth during the Entry Point to this environmental unit of learning. This unit focuses on global warming and sustainability. In science the students learn about energy and our use of it, and sustainable goals are looked at from the point of view of what our school can do to contribute to saving the planet.
How does your garden grow?
In Year 2, the answer is "in a shoebox"! The children made dioramas of gardens inside shoe boxes during the IPC unit 'Flowers and Insects'. Children will learn scientific facts about plants and understand about ants and bees colonies.
