What a difference a fortnight can make!
It has been wonderful to have students return to school, albeit in restricted numbers for the final two weeks of term. We hope that this is the start of a broader return to normal and that in January, we will be able to return to all of the activities that have not been possible due to the pandemic over the last 18 months.
Our IGCSE exams draw to a close next week and our Year 11s will formally come to the end of their time at TISKL on November 19th, with the graduation, taking place in the school foyer in the afternoon. Our student council have arranged to sell flowers for the occasion and details of how to order are being sent out to Year 11 students this week. I take this opportunity to congratulate the Year 11s for the unending positive attitudes. It has been a pleasure to chat with them as they come in for their exams. We all wish them the very best in their new educational journeys.
On Wednesday 17th November, we will be celebrating students’ commitment to school values with our celebrations assembly. Held online, the assembly will recognise those students who have demonstrated these values: Respect, Excellence, Communication, Integrity, Passion in what we do and respecting and creating Enjoyable environments.
Our year book is at the printers and will be available soon. This year was a challenge to compile due to everybody working online. However, the creative editorial team, led by Ms Judith, have done a great job capturing the essence of this extraordinary year. We hope you enjoy reading it when it is released.
Finally, I would like to thank the students, parents and staff for the warm welcome I have received since joining at the end of August. I look forward to meeting more of you all face to face over the coming term. I wish all members of our community a very happy and well-deserved end-of-year holiday. See you in 2022, hopefully for a return to a more normal, face-to-face year!
Best wishes
