I am delighted with the return of students, with all bar 30 students attending this week. As Mr Wells said, the sound of students’ voices and laughter really makes the school alive.
I congratulate the children on their excellent practice of the SOPs and for taking the transition into school in their stride. The new norm means that most activities will be classroom based, including Entry and Exit points for IEYC and IPC, and Key Stage Assemblies. Year 1 held the Entry Point to ‘We Are What We Eat’ this week with role play restaurants in the classroom, and next week Year 3 students will experience the Exit Point to ‘What’s On the Menu?’
PE and CCAs are not permitted at the moment under the Guidelines 2.0 but we hope to restart soon. Meanwhile, students may wear their PE uniform on PE and CCA days.
I would like to welcome new students to Early Years and Primary, some of whom started during the online learning period and some who joined us this week. One such student in Year 5 told me that she was delighted that her mother had chosen to send her into school for face to face lessons. You can imagine that she made my day!
