"Blue skies, Smiling at me, Nothing but blue skies". This is a quick quote from a famous Ella Fitzgerald song, and I hope that we have seen the last of the haze this year.

For the last three weeks, we have had Mark Reardon, an American trainer from Quantum Learning working with our teachers. He presented two parent workshops while he was here, and parents experienced the very powerful messages that are part of the Quantum Learning methodologies. As a reminder this methodology is based on the way that children’s brains work, and so teachers are now teaching in a style that promotes learning in a more effective way. I hope that your children are talking more about what they are learning reflecting these changes in the teachers.

I would also like to congratulate all our teachers for the manner in which they have changed their style to incorporate this new methodology. It has been hard work but they are seeing the fruits of their efforts in the way their students react.

Last Saturday we also had the Food and Games carnival, organised by the Student Council, which was a superb event, raising much needed money and awareness for charity. Thank you for all their hard work and effort in making this happen.

Thank you also to everyone involved in the various independence activities around Merdeka Day and Malaysia Day. The Primary school had an IPC theme "Negaraku", which helped everyone, Malaysian and expatriate learning more about the country they live in.

We have also just started our IGCSE exam season, with Year 11 on study leave as they prepare for the written papers happening over the coming weeks in the school hall. Good luck to them, and as Arnold Palmer the golfer is quoted as saying "The more I practise the luckier I get".
