Salam Ramadan

- Salam Ramadan

Dear Parents and Guardians,

This is a very special time of year for our Muslim community.

In school, while school life continues, there are arrangements for our Muslim students during lunchtimes and PE lessons. Please see the section journals to get details of these arrangements.

My congratulations to our Performing Arts team, after a very short break from their CNY performances, they are now involved in Raya performances and local shopping malls. If you are around Pavilion in Damansara or the Intermark in coming weekends, please support them.

We are now deep into the planning of the traffic arrangements for when the Sports Complex construction starts on the current field at the front of the school. We have been working alongside our architects, consultants and project manager to put this plan together. At this moment in time, we are expecting the hoardings to go up in June and the work to start shortly afterwards. All the construction will occur behind these hoardings and away from the student areas.

The hoardings will mean that the current school access road will be reduced to two lanes; one in, and one out. There will be NO PARKING / WAITING on this road as this will block traffic flow. This will mean quite large changes to the way that parents drop-off and collect their children. We are finalising plans to reduce the congestion that will occur. In the coming weeks, we will arrange face to face meetings with sections of the school to explain what this will all look like, and of course issue hard copy information, so that everyone is aware.

On the positive side, we will at long last start the construction of a new and much larger car park, football pitch, cafeteria and swimming pool. These new facilities will enhance the school hugely. The images alongside this newsletter will give alternative views of what this new construction will look like.

As part of our child protection, and health and safety protocols, we had an evacuation practice last Friday. We arrange these at least once a term, to keep everyone aware of this very important aspect of being in a large community. We cleared everyone from the buildings and onto the field in just over 5 minutes. Thank you to the staff and students for the sensible and measured manner in which this evacuation was carried out.
