Dear Parents and Guardians,
Here we are at the end of another very busy term of learning at school. If we look at this term through the posts on school’s official Facebook and Instagram pages, we see just what our students have experienced and stand back in admiration of the talents of our students and the opportunities that are presented to them. My thanks to all the students and teachers for a very successful term.
The Solar panel’s are now in full operation and visitors to the campus will have noticed that we have recently installed a pillar in the courtyard that displays our ethos and data around the solar panels. This information will start to be used in various lessons as we delve deeper into Care for the World and sustainability. A quick ‘snapshot’ of the panels so far shows that the school has generated a lot of energy from the solar panels, saving a lot of carbon from being released into the atmosphere. Please take the opportunity to have a look at the information on this pillar. During the morning that I was writing this piece, we produced over 42kWh of electricity and saved the equivalent of 3 trees! This is a powerful message to pass to students about what we can all do to reduce our impact on the planet.
For Year 11, they have just finished their trial or mock exams. These papers are a very important indicator of where each student is with their studies and revision. With the IGCSE papers starting in October, students will have time to refine and adjust their learning and revision to make sure that they score as well as they can in the real exams. I wish them the very best and encourage them to use the break to make adjustments to their revision. As the saying goes, “the more I practise, the luckier I get”.
The Primary school has been very busy preparing for their musical on Wednesday and Thursday. I have seen the students rehearsing for this show and wish them all the best. Shows like this expose students to different experiences and I hope that the memories of this show will live with them for a long time.
On Saturday we start the end of term 2 holidays, and I would like to wish everyone a peaceful break, where I hope that everyone will be able to recharge their batteries before the return to school on Monday 19th August.
Stay safe
